Facebook Advertising Program

The other day I got this email. At first I wasn’t sure if it was SPAM.

Hi Bruce,

My name is Ryann and I’m with Facebook Marketing. I wanted to reach out to you to inform you about the free advertising support that Facebook has to offer.

This free support would be able to assist you in growing your social media presence on our platform and I would like to extend an invitation into our program.

If there is ever a need for Trinity Church to advertise on Facebook and/or if you would like to learn more, please feel free to reach back out to me at your earliest availability. If you are not the correct person to speak with regarding this program, I would ask that you forward this information along to the right person.

Thank you very much. I hope to hear from you soon.

Be well,

Ryann | Facebook Sales Representative Phone: 800-889-4252 Ext. 24058

Sure enough, I got a followup call from Ryann from Facebook (ends up the advertising team is based out of Phoenix) and had a chance to clarify what Facebook was offering. The offer is legit…they have a specialist that will help you craft and track your ad…but only if you are ready to make a sizable commitment to advertising. You have to budget at minimum $50 a day for 30 days. That’s $1,500 in one month!!! To put it in context, our advertising budget for the whole church is only $500. I don’t know what church has that kind of budget…I’m sure they are out there. But at this time, I’m going to have to pass : )

  1. It’s currently $25 per day and there is no contract. No ROI and you can terminate without any penalty. I think that’s a good deal. No Facebook employment here — just had the same phone call. In essence, they need a minimum spend in order to make it worth their while to spend their time helping improve your results.
