Pocket Pictures

I know for me, having a decent digital camera phone with me at all times (iPhone 4S) has greatly increased the number of photos I take. I just did a phone dump of over 2,000!

As a rule of thumb, the more photos you take the “better” photos you get. And what good is a great photo if you can’t share it? Hello Facebook and Instagram. There is no indication that this trend will stop anytime soon. In fact, just the opposite…if anything, camera phones are getting better, the number of mega pixels is getting greater and sharing in getting easier.

iStock recently put together a great info graphic documenting the monumental shift in mobile digital photography. “Everyone and their dog (a real-ish stat) has a mobile phone with 8-plus megapixels in their pocket right now, ready to shoot everything from the lunch on their plate to the election of a new Pope. And, this year, with smartphone sales expected to outnumber other cell phone sales for the first time ever (I know, we were shocked that this wasn’t already the case, too), the best camera really will be the one you have with you — right in your pocket.” More>>
