The Gift of .GIF

Animated GIFs (pronounced Jif…as in the peanut butter) were introduced by CompuServe back in the late 1980s and have had a recent resurgence in popularity. In the past they have been difficult to make…especially for video. Not any more.

You can easily make animated GIFs from a YouTube video by going to www.gifyoutube.com. This site claims “Gif Youtube brings you the fastest way to create animated GIFs from YouTube.” And they are right. Paste in any YouTube URL or or simply typing “gif” in front of YouTube URL address you are watching.

While facebook and Instagram does not support .GIF files (yet), your website and Flipboard does. It’s an easy way to spice up your e-mail newsletter…and gives it a Harry Potter newspaper feel.
